Crop progress report 11/14: Heavy rainfall and flooding throughout Washington
From NASS
There were 4.6 days suitable for fieldwork, down from 5.6 the previous week. Statewide temperatures were above normal.
In San Juan County, cooler temperatures set in throughout the area. Wet conditions kept winter crops from being planted. Leaves mostly fell on perennial tree and berry crops. In Snohomish County, soils were saturated from rain, and flooding showed up throughout the area. The harvest of fall vegetables continued in fields not affected by floods. In Yakima County, there was consistent rain throughout the area. Little agricultural activity happened due to high amounts of rainfall. A few fields were tilled under. In Lincoln County, there was significant rainfall throughout the area. Heavy precipitation helped soil moisture conditions.Â
