Crop progress report 10/23: Fall seeding continued in Washington
From the National Agricultural Statistics Service
There were 6.4 days suitable for fieldwork in Washington, down from 6.6 days recorded the previous week.
Warm temperatures around the state helped crops grow. Some moisture was reported in central Washington. Klickitat County reported above average temperatures and no killing frosts, which was unusual for this time of year. Cows were still coming out of the mountains, and fall seeding was wrapping up.
In Douglas County, cool temperatures and the passing showers helped the soil moisture.
