Quality Grain for Quality Buyers
Washington grain farmers are distinct from other U.S. farmers for a variety of reasons. Primarily, our state’s climate and landscape have allowed our farmers to grow some of the cleanest grain in the U.S. Traditionally, the majority of Soft White Wheat from Washington has a less than 0.5 dockage rate. Also, our climate has allowed Washington farmers to not only be the champions of the Soft White Wheat class, but we also grow significant amounts of high quality Hard Red Winter and Hard Red Spring wheats.
ATTENTION BUYERS & PROCESSORS: The 2012 harvest is underway and we are giving weekly updates as to the progress and conditions of the crop. As we further develop this section of our website, we will continuously improve the delivery of the information to best suit your needs.
Please use the Production Reports, Crop Progress and other pages to gather information you need for purchasing Washington grain. As always, we will get you the year-in-review quality and production information through our popular Washington’s Wheat Facts publication.
If you have any questions, or want more details about the condition of this year’s Washington grain crop, email Washington Grain Commission CEO Glen Squires or call the Washington Grain Commission office at 509-456-2481.
